How to access online transcripts
The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) defines a Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) as an activity that is planned to have
- a series with multiple sessions that
- occur on an ongoing basis (offered weekly, monthly, or quarterly) and
- are primarily planned by and presented to the accredited organization’s professional staff.
All Regularly Scheduled Series are expected to be planned, implemented and evaluated in accordance with the ACCME Essential Areas and Elements, (including the 2004 Updated Standards for Commercial Support) and Accreditation Policies.
Any RSS seeking to apply for AMA PRA Category 1 credit must appoint a Physician RSS Director and a RSS Administrative Liaison who are required to complete an annual application. The application form, along with the requested documentation, must be submitted to Terri Farnham in the Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences (CCEHS) by December 5th for approval effective January 1st of the following year.
All RSS must be designed to make a change in clinical competence (strategy), performance, or patient outcomes of the learners. They must also be designed to measure for a change in clinical competence (strategy), performance, or patient outcomes.
In order to apply for accreditation for a Regularly Scheduled Series this specific process must be followed:
- Review the Responsibilities of Individuals Involved
- Review the RSS Application Process that outlines the documentation that MUST be submitted with the RSS Credit Application. The types of documentation that must be submitted are (please see the RSS Application Process document for a comprehensive list of supporting documentation):
- Minutes or summary documenting the planning meeting process
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure Forms
- Representative/departmental data showing needs assessment methods
- Proposed annual activity schedule including speaker name & talk title or list of potential topics to be covered during the year
- Sample activity promotional material to include
- Sample sign-in/attendance sheet (see templates to use)
- Sample evaluation form
- Projected budget
- Accurately and completely fill-out and submit the RSS Credit Application to Terri Farnham in the Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences by December 5.
- If this process is not completed in the timeframe specified accreditation may be withheld.

For Case Programs (A RSS that has a core group of people that attend each time and use a discussion format are considered to be a “case” RSS.)
For Traditional Programs (A RSS that has a different speaker each week is considered to be a “traditional” RSS.)
